Get In Shape With These Excellent Tips on Fitness & Workouts
Why do many folks fall short of their fitness and workout goals?
- Many times it is because they may lack the motivation to learn what works and pick a workout that sucks. They may even start an exercise program, but it just is not adequate or does not compliment the diet program they are following. This does not mean that they have not invested the time and effort. Perhaps they have embarked on exercises in fitness and workouts and work at it 4 or 5 days a week, hard. But still, they do not see the results that they may have hoped for. The trick to effective fitness is consistency. This means you’d better find workouts that you enjoy and that don’t bore you. If you pick a workout that sucks, chances are you are going to hate it and quit. If you enjoy it, you have a better chance that you will stick to your fitness plan, it will enhance your weight loss and you will benefit from the synergistic effect of exercising and dieting. Make it enjoyable! A really hot workout these days is Shaun T’s Focus T25 Workout.
- Grab some ear buds or headphones & play some of your favorite music as you exercise. Playing music is a great way to get fired up and forget you are even working out. The human body naturally wants to move to the music. Listening to great tunes while you exercise is very similar to hitting the dance floor. It makes the movement more enjoyable. You will not even notice you are getting tired or that your muscles ache, when you are enjoying yourself. Your favorite tunes can move you and increase your motivation to get you through the full workout.
- Don’t exercise alone. Find a buddy or someone in your family to team up with. Together, you can motivate each other to meet yourfitness and weight loss goals. When you workout with a partner, it increase the odds that you will stick with your fitness plan, since your buddy is probably fun to be with. Plus, it is harder to blow off the workout, because your partner will razz you and get you there, even if it is only out of guilt. It motivates both of you to reach your goals and track your success. So, grab a workout buddy and make your exercise program much more fun. Your attention will be on hanging with your friend and enjoying each others company and not how hard your workout is. Because of this, you are much more likely to stay on the plan and not give up.
- Break it up. Don’t do the same boring exercise routine over and over again every day and every week. It is so easy to get bored when you do this. When you are bored, there is a good chance that your brain will start to sabotage your fitness plan and talk you into quitting. This goes hand in hand with not picking an exercise plan that sucks. The more you enjoy your exercise the longer you will stick it out. Keeping it less predictable goes a long way, when it comes to preventing boredom. Plan it out for yourself, a few weeks in advance. Alternate between a few different routines. Make your exercise exhilarating. Love it! You will stick with it if this is the case. Okay, maybe you think exercise is not fun, but you have to make it fun. Otherwise, you may lose interest, get bored and hate it so much that you quit. You must prevent this from happening, because once you quit, it is very difficult to find the motivation to get started again.
- Reward your successes. An awesome way to plug into your motivation and fire yourself up to keep exercising, is to reward your successes. Don’t put celebrating your efforts until you reach your targeted fitness goals or targeted weight. Pat yourself on the back along the way. Be very selective with exactly how you are going to reward your progress, though. Only you know what you like and what makes it worth sticking it out for yourself. Make a list of applicable rewards and pick things that you enjoy so much, that you will look forward to enjoying the reward enough to complete your routine. Make it small stuff that you know you love and will satiate you. But, don’t overdo it with the reward, so your efforts are offset by the reward. (lol!) Keep in mind that if you boost your motivation levels in anticipation of enjoying your reward once you finish, you will greatly improve your chances of sticking it out and achieving success with your fitness and workouts.
